Abby Russo

Attorney

Abby Russo is an attorney who primarily handles litigation and Virginia Special Immigrant Juvenile Status cases across the state of Virginia. Abby’s excitement to practice immigration law is rooted in her passion for increasing access to justice for marginalized individuals in her community.

Prior to working as an attorney at Murray Osorio, Abby worked to improve access to justice through a variety of practice areas. In law school, Abby worked with Institute for Actual Innocence, in which she secured Pandemic-related early release for her client. In her first role after law school, she then served the city of Hampton as a public defender. Abby later served as a Commonwealth Attorney in the city of Richmond, protecting the rights of victims and juvenile defendants in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. Furthermore, Abby also worked on the motions team in the Clerk’s Office of the Virginia Court of Appeals, handling motions traffic and improving access to the court system for pro se litigants. Alongside her work as an attorney, Abby also enjoys staying up to date on immigration law news and developments.

Interesting Fact: Outside of the courtroom, Abby enjoys exploring new restaurants in her home city of Richmond with her partner and rooting for the Buffalo Bills.
