Marisol is an attorney in Murray Osorio’s defensive practice group. Marisol focuses her work on asylum and other humanitarian applications, as well as seeking Special Immigrant Juvenile Status for youths. Prior to joining Murray Osorio, Marisol worked at Youman, Madeo & Fasano, LLP where she represented clients at every stage of removal proceedings, including Cancellation of Removal, and handled all types of affirmative applications.
Marisol is a proud alumna of the specialized Brooklyn Technical High School in New York City, majoring in Social Science Research. She then attended Rutgers University where she received a Bachelor of Arts having majored in both Criminal Justice, Psychology and a minor in Spanish. She received her juris doctor from Rutgers Law School in Newark, New Jersey. During law school Marisol was a member of the Minority Student Program, Association of Latin American Law Students, and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. She was also awarded the Marie Slocum Scholarship for those wishing to focus on public interest. After law school, she clerked for the Hon. Melvin L. Gelade, J.S.C. at the Superior Court of New Jersey Civil Division, and for several other recall judges.
Prior to going to law school, Marisol was a Child Protective Specialist in New York City where she gained extensive experience working with diverse communities and with a trauma-informed approach.
Marisol is of Puerto Rican descent and speaks Spanish. Her connection to the Latino/Hispanic communities provides her insight to their lived experiences and allows her to successfully provide representation that is culturally aware.
