Ximena Gillies was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. Prior to her arrival in the United States, she practiced Administrative Law and Health Care law as an attorney in Colombia. Ximena moved to the United States in 2009 and has worked and volunteered for various non-profit organizations. During her time at these organizations, she helped immigrants and underserved communities on their legal matters. Ximena has worked as a legal and medical interpreter for many courts, government agencies, and hospitals in Georgia and Virginia. In 2018, Ximena earned an LL.M. degree from George Washington University in International and Comparative Law. Ximena has two loving cats Anamaria and Juan Diego, and in her free time she likes to read non-fiction books, learn about Theology, and visit gardens and historic sites.
